During his stay, Father John Connor, L.C., held meetings and encounters with the legionary communities, members of the Regnum Christi, as well as visiting schools and other works of apostolate.

From March 23 to April 3, Brazil received the visit of Father John Connor, L.C., General Director of the Legionaries of Christ and president of the College of the General Directorate of the Regnum Christi, directly from Rome. During his stay, he was accompanied by Father Luis Alberto Henao, L.C., Secretary General, Father Flávio Lopes de Oliveira, L.C., and Father André Delvaux, L.C., Territorial Director of the Legionaries of Christ in Brazil.

In the various meetings he held with the legionary communities, members of the Regnum Christi, and collaborators, Father John emphasized that “it is essential that we trust not in the human project, but in the path by which God is guiding the Legion and the Regnum Christi. As priests, we are collaborators, ministers, and apostles of God’s work, and our trust must be in Him, knowing that it is He who guides our steps and gives us the strength to fulfill our mission,” he said.

At the beginning of his visit, between March 23 and 25, Father John dedicated his time to the communities of São Paulo. On Saturday, the 23rd, he visited the Maria Mater Ecclesiae Seminary, where he met with members of the community.

On Sunday, the 24th, he visited the facilities of the Catholic Leadership Institute and, during dinner at the Territorial Directorate headquarters, also met with the priests of the Carioca community.

On Tuesday, the 26th, he visited the consecrated women in São Paulo and, subsequently, traveled to Curitiba, where he spent the first days of Holy Week. There, he held meetings with the community of priests and with the formators, apostolics, and pre-candidates of the Vocational Center. Additionally, he had the opportunity to see the facilities and educational team of Colégio Everest, with the participation of consecrated women at the closing Mass at the Vocational Center.

Subsequently, Father Juan was received by the novitiate community, currently in São Paulo, at the Maria Mater Ecclesiae Seminary, where he spent Holy Week. During this period, he presided over the celebrations of the Holy Triduum and met with the novices, postulants, and various priests of the community.

On Saturday, the 30th, Father Juan concelebrated the solemnity of the Easter Vigil at the Parish of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Brasília. At the parish, he visited the facilities for the upcoming priests’ house.

On Easter Sunday, he presided over the closing Mass of the Regnum Christi missions in the locality. He also visited the Colégio Everest and met with consecrated women in Brasília.

Returning to São Paulo, on April 3, Father John visited the current parish of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, as well as the site where the new diocesan-requested headquarters will be built.
