From January 23 to 27, the annual gathering for brothers doing their apostolic practices in the two territories of Mexico took place in the city of Aguascalientes. 19 brothers participated: 12 from the Mexico and Central America territory and 7 from the Northern Mexico territory.
The 19 religious belong to nine diverse communities. 9 of them are in their first year of formation, 7 in their second year, and 3 in their third year. The event was characterized by a dynamic atmosphere of religious fraternity. Most of the brothers looked forward to the opportunity to reconnect with those who have been their companions in previous stages of formation.
Among other activities, Fr. Alejandro Zárate, L.C., led a workshop on “initiative, flexibility, and how to live the apostolate better” (highlighting how everything in the apostolate becomes formative); Fr. Manuel Cervantes, L.C., conducted a workshop on “Intellectual Evangelization in 1-on-1,” where he harmonized strategic apostolate with solid academic formation.
The brothers also participated in the workshop “Strategies for my spiritual life and effective spiritual direction,” led by Father Manuel Díez, LC. In this workshop, the brothers were able to renew their commitment to their own spiritual life, integrating interior life with active life.
During the gathering, Fathers Xavier Castro, L.C., and Jorge Fernández Tijerina, L.C., delegates of the territorial directors, interacted with the brothers and took a moment to reflect together on the apostolic and religious life situation in the territory. Also participating in the event was Fr. Christopher Brackett, spiritual director and chaplain.
