“Today’s marriages seek answers to their doubts and help with their difficulties. It is frightening and concerning to see an environment where the disintegration of so many marriages is evident, even among well-known individuals,” explains Lo+RC to Father Juan José Ferrán, LC. He continues: “With joy and hope, many of them open up to reflection and accompaniment to be able to carry forward the commitment made on the day they consecrated their marriage before God and the Church.”
This is one of the most important pastoral challenges currently facing the Church, as was seen in the recent Synod of Bishops. The schools of Regnum Christi want to be there, and for this reason Father Ferrán has begun a series of conferences at Everest School Monteclaro and Highlands School El Encinar titled “Values for Living as a Family.”
Father Ferrán, who has been working for years with marriages and families, explains that he has prepared “a list of 15 values, such as joy, kindness, calmness, understanding, generosity, respect, etc.,” aimed at a clear goal: “To improve relationships within the family itself: between spouses, siblings, and parents and children.”
The upcoming talks at Everest School Monteclaro are on March 7, April 4, May 9, and June 6. And at Highlands School El Encinar, on March 10, April 14, May 19, and June 2. The series of conferences lasts two years, so it will also extend through 2016-17.
