Father Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC announced in a letter dated May 16th the appointment of Father Cleomar Ferronato, LC, as the territorial director of the Legionaries of Christ and the Regnum Christi Movement in Brazil for a second three-year term.
In the same letter, the appointment of Father José Laboy, LC as territorial vicar was announced, along with the territorial counselors of the congregation: Fathers André Delvaux, LC, Alejandro Fuentes, LC, and Esaúl Toscano, LC. The new territorial leadership will begin its term on July 1, 2018.

Father Cleomar Ferronato, LC was born on February 7th in Santa Elena, Paraná (Brazil). He entered the Legion of Christ Novitiate in January 1991. He made his perpetual profession in May 1999. He was ordained a priest in Rome on December 24th, 2002. In 2004, after completing his licentiate in theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, he took on the role of administrative manager and chaplain at Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid, where he completed a master’s degree in humanities. In 2010, he moved to Barcelona to assume the direction of the Royal Monastery School Santa Isabel. Starting in 2011, he returned to Brazil, where he has served as apostolic delegate, and since 2015, he has been the territorial director.
Territory of Venezuela
Father Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC announced on May 17th the appointment of Father Carlos Gutiérrez López, LC as the new territorial director of the Legionaries of Christ and the Regnum Christi Movement in Venezuela for a three-year period, replacing Father Julio Martí, LC.
In the same letter, the appointment of Father Josef Hare, LC as territorial vicar was announced, along with the congregation’s territorial counselors: Fathers Pedro Guzmán, LC, Fernando Morales, LC, and Juan Carlos Quintero, LC. The new territorial leadership will begin its term on September 1, 2018.
Father Carlos Alberto Gutiérrez López, LC was born in Hermosillo, Sonora (Mexico), on July 23rd. He studied high school and obtained a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, graduating in December 1996. In 1998, he was a collaborator of Regnum Christi in Santiago, Chile. He entered the Legion of Christ at the Gozzano Novitiate in Italy in September 1999. During his apostolic practices from 2001 to 2004, he served as an assistant for ECYD in Santiago, Chile. He studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, and during those years, he collaborated as an assistant to the general secretariat and as a member of the training team of the general leadership. He was ordained a priest on December 12th, 2009. From 2009 to 2012, he served as an assistant to the territorial director for apostolate in Venezuela and Colombia. From 2010 to 2012, he was the superior of the Bogotá apostolic community. In 2012, he was appointed territorial counselor of Venezuela. In 2016, he earned a master’s degree in psychology from Divine Mercy University (United States). He is currently part of the training team of the religious community of the general leadership and is the coordinator of the pastoral family and youth area in the general leadership.
