In a letter addressed to the legionaries (which can be read at this link), Fr. Eduardo Robles-Gil L.C., General Director of the Legion of Christ, announced this appointment that will take effect starting July 1st.
Similarly, he appointed Fr. Hernán Jiménez, L.C. as vicar and first territorial counselor, and Fr. Rafael Pacaníns, L.C., Fr. Carlos Pi, L.C., and Fr. Francisco Aguilar, L.C. as territorial counselors.
He requested prayers for this new Council that begins and thanked the work carried out over the past three years by the territorial council members Fr. Eloy Bedia, L.C., Fr. Rodolfo Mayagoitia, L.C., and Fr. Rodolfo Ibarra, L.C.
Fr. Ricardo Sada, L.C. was born in 1955 in Madrid, Spain, and joined Regnum Christi in 1972. On August 6, 1977, he entered the Legion of Christ novitiate in Salamanca and was ordained a priest on December 24, 1985, in Rome.
He holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. From January 1982 until October 2011, he collaborated as a vocations promoter in northern Mexico. At different times, he served as director of the youth section of Regnum Christi in Torreón and San Luis Potosí, Mexico. From September 2007 to October 2011, he was founder and director of the VALIA center dedicated to the training of entrepreneurs in Monterrey. He was assistant to the territorial director for religious life and territorial counselor in the Monterrey territory. He has been the Territorial Director of Mexico and Central America since March 2014.
We share a brief biography of the new council that will support the pastoral work of Fr. Ricardo Sada, L.C.:

Father Hernán Jiménez Barrera, L.C. was born on January 6, 1959, in Monterrey. He joined the Legion of Christ in 1976 and completed his novitiate and a year of humanities in Salamanca, Spain. In 1978, he moved to Rome to begin his bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and in 1982, he obtained his license in philosophy. In 1990, he completed his theology studies and was ordained a priest on January 3, 1991. He has collaborated in youth ministry in Spain and vocations ministry in Italy and Mexico. From 2011 to 2016, he was rector of the theology community at the Center for Higher Studies in Rome. Since 2016, he has been in Mexico City.

Father Rafael Pacaníns Héreter, L.C. was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on December 20, 1977. On September 15, 1995, he entered the Legion of Christ novitiate in Monterrey, Mexico, and later moved to Gozzano, Italy, to complete two years of novitiate there. He studied classical humanities in Cheshire, United States. During his apostolic practices, he collaborated in vocations and youth ministry in Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela, and Colombia. He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum, where he also studied theology. He was ordained a priest on December 12, 2009. In 2011, he began his pastoral work as director of the youth section in southern Mexico City. In 2015, he was appointed delegate of the territorial director for apostolate.

Father Carlos Pi, L.C. was born in Barcelona, Spain, on September 20, 1976. He joined the Legion of Christ in 1994 and completed two years of novitiate in Germany. He studied humanistic studies in Salamanca, Spain. He has carried out his apostolic work as a member of the training team at the Legion of Christ minor seminary in France, as well as in youth ministry in Salamanca, Rome, and Mexico City. He studied for a license in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in theology at the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum. He was ordained a priest in Rome on December 20, 2008. From 2009 to 2013, he was director of the Cumbres Bosques Institute in Mexico City, and since 2013, he has collaborated as a territorial counselor of Mexico. He is also the author of the book “Ser católico sin complejos“.

Father Francisco Aguilar Barrón, L.C. was born on May 13, 1970. He joined the Legion of Christ in 1991 and completed his novitiate in Salamanca, Spain. He obtained his bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum. He made his perpetual profession on August 15, 1999, and was ordained a priest on December 24, 2002. He has collaborated in the Spain territorial secretariat, in the general administration of the Legion of Christ in Rome, as Director of the Laity’s Study Center of Regnum Christi, in vocations promotion in Mexico City, and in university pastoral work at the Universidad Anáhuac Campus Norte, where he also previously served as director of the youth section of Regnum Christi at Universidad Anáhuac.
