The P. Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC, has appointed P. Paul Lara, LC, as the territorial director of Monterrey for a new three-year term, as communicated to the Legionaries of Christ in a letter on June 3.
He has also appointed territorial counselors: P. Alberto Leal, Alfredo Márquez, and Héctor Quintana, LC.
He expressed gratitude for the service and support in territorial governance over the past years to P. Óscar Pérez Anaya, LC, and P. Miguel Viso, LC.

The new territorial government will begin its three-year term on August 1, 2019.

Father Paul Lara Del Arenal, LC was born in Mexico City, in August 1971. On September 15, 1997, he entered the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Cheshire, United States, where he completed his novitiate. He studied philosophy and theology in Rome at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. He was ordained a priest on December 22, 2007, in Rome. Before beginning his priestly life, he studied International Business at St. Mary’s University.
During his life in the Legion, he has carried out his apostolic work as director of ECYD, prefect of discipline and administrator at Oaklawn Academy, formator of philosophers in Thornwood, assistant administrator of the Pontifical International College Maria Mater Ecclesiae in Rome, director of the youth section, local director of apostolate, community superior, and chaplain of the Consecrated Women of the Regnum Christi in Aguascalientes, local director of apostolate, community superior, and assistant of the women’s section in Guadalajara. Delegate and counselor to the territorial director for the Bajío-West region. He has been the territorial director of Monterrey since August 2016.
Father Alberto Leal Villanueva, LC was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, in July 1972. On September 15, 1993, he entered the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Salamanca, Spain, where he completed the novitiate and classical humanities. He holds a degree in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. He was ordained a priest on December 23, 2006, in Rome. During his life in the Legion, he has performed his apostolic work as director of ECYD in Mexico City, novice master, community superior, director of the men’s section, and director of formation at the Himalaya School in Monterrey, and since 2016 in the Monterrey territory, he has served as a territorial counselor and delegate of the territorial director for apostolate.
Father Alfredo Márquez Muñoz, LC was born in San Julián, Jalisco, Mexico, in March 1965. On September 15, 1980, he entered the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Salamanca, Spain, where he completed the novitiate and classical humanities. He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, where he also studied theology for his bachelor’s. He was ordained a priest on November 25, 1994, in Mexico City. During his life in the Legion, he has performed his apostolic work as a formator at the humanities center in Spain and in the general direction in Rome, as territorial secretary of Mexico, director of the apostolate Águilas Guadalupanas, and community superior in Mexico City, chaplain of works, community superior, director of the Cumbres School in Santiago, Chile, local coordinator of apostolate, and territorial counselor in Chile. Since 2012, he has served as a territorial counselor for Monterrey and is the regional director of the Semper Altius School Network.
Father Héctor Quintana Juárez, LC was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, in October 1977. On September 15, 1998, he entered the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Monterrey, Mexico. He later moved to the novitiate in Bad Münstereifel, Germany. He studied classical humanities in Salamanca, Spain. He holds a degree in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 2010, in Rome. During his life in the Legion, he has carried out his apostolic work in vocational and youth ministry in Mexico, as director of the youth section in Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, and has been a formator of theologians at the International College of the Legionaries of Christ in Rome. Since 2018, he has been community superior, local director of apostolate, and director of the women’s section in Hermosillo, Sonora.
