On June 28th, several members of the various vocations of the Regnum Christi living in Rome gathered in the chapel of the Legionaries of Christ International School to celebrate together the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The celebration was offered especially as an act of thanksgiving for the canonical approval of the Regnum Christi Federation and its statutes, and to invite everyone to care for the Regnum Christi in all its richness, to all its vocations.
“All of the Regnum Christi is gathered today as one spiritual family and an apostolic body around Jesus Christ, who has loved us so much […]. We are gathered to thank Him for His love and His continued presence throughout our personal and institutional history,” said Father Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC, in the homily.
Drawing on the figure of the Good Shepherd and Psalm 22, Father Eduardo spoke of God’s goodness and mercy and their respective nuances that “help us see the depth of God’s love.”
At the end of the homily, Father Eduardo commented that it is now our turn “to begin writing a new chapter of our history with a new love that is willing to serve, to carry others’ burdens, to forgive weaknesses and faults, to give life so that others may have life. Love will lead us to care for the Regnum Christi in all its richness, to all its vocations according to their particularities and needs. Today, the Regnum Christi needs many cares, like a small child in its mother’s arms. Mercy will lead us to forgive and forget, not to wound, but also to heal wounds.”
