The Father Anthony Bannon, L.C., was born on April 25, 1947, in Dublin, Ireland. He entered the novitiate in his hometown on September 14, 1964. He made his first religious profession on September 15, 1966, and his perpetual profession on April 2, 1972. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 1975. He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University. From 1971 to 1974, he served as prefect of discipline at the Primaria Cumbres Rosedal and at the Preparatoria del Instituto Irlandés de México. In 1976, he worked as a spiritual advisor for the youth section of Regnum Christi in Mexico City. From 1976 to 2011, he carried out his ministry in North America, collaborating as an instructor at the Noviciado de Orange, Connecticut, United States (1976-1978), rector of the Centro de Noviciado de Orange and later Cheshire (1978-1989), in vocation promotion and fundraising (1976-2008).
He was a local director and later territorial director of North America (1976-1988, 1988-2004, respectively) and a general counselor of the Legion from 1980 to 2004. He contributed to the founding of vocational centers in New Hampshire, California, and Cornwall, as well as the Noviciado de Canadá and the Centro de Estudios Superiores in Thornwood, New York. From 2005 to 2008, he served as assistant to the territorial director for religious life in the New York territory, and from 2008 to 2011, as assistant for spiritual life and apostolate in the western United States (Atlanta territory).
He served as superior of the apostolate house in Dublin from 2011 to 2013, while participating as a member of the team for the revision of the constitutions. He is currently the director of the Señores section of Regnum Christi in Mexico West.
