The P. Gabriel Sotres, L.C., was born on September 17, 1962, in Mexico City. He entered the novitiate in Orange, Connecticut, United States, in September 1980. He made his perpetual profession in Rome, in October 1985. He was ordained a priest on January 3, 1991, by Saint John Paul II, on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Legion of Christ. He obtained a license in philosophy from the Gregorian University and a license in theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
Since 1985 until the present, he has collaborated in various areas of the General Secretariat and Administration. He is currently also the president of the board of directors of the European University of Rome.
