Father Owen Kearns, L.C., was born in Dublin, Ireland, on April 15, 1948. He entered the Legion of Christ Novitiate in Dublin in 1966. He made his perpetual profession in 1978. He was ordained a priest in 1983. He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University. From 1983 to 1994, he was vocations promoter in North America. From 1994 to 1997, he was a professor at the Novitiate and Humanities Center in Cheshire, Connecticut, United States. From 1997 to 2011, he was editor and writer for the newspaper National Catholic Register.
In 2011, he was a humanities professor in Cheshire. In 2013, he published the book, Regnum Christi: Seeking the Heart of Its Charism. Since 2014, he has been chaplain to the consecrated women and men of Regnum Christi in Dallas, Texas.
