On May 3rd, some religious from the International School and from the General Directorate Headquarters experienced firsthand the encounter with Christ that reveals a new aspect of the love of His Heart.
By receiving the ministry of acolyteship, the gift of guarding and distributing the Eucharist is entrusted to us. God Himself, out of pure goodness, agrees to be in our hands and to use them to reach all people. “The personal experience of His love, which is especially revealed to us in His Sacred Heart, is the essential starting point for walking each day on our path of giving” (CCG 2020, 62).
Christ, as a close friend to each one, is the one who has taken us by the hand to continue approaching with hope the gift of priesthood and to further ignite the fire of our souls for the salvation of men.
In this gift of acolyteship, the gaze also turns to Mary. She held Christ in her hands, cared for Him, made Him sleep in her arms, and performed many other gestures typical of a mother. It is a great opportunity for the acolyte’s soul to converse with Mary and learn from her how to treat the Eucharist.
