On April 26th, a Eucharistic celebration was held, broadcast live on Instagram, to thank the third anniversary of the pastoral initiative Mission Hope Guatemala. The Holy Mass was officiated by Fathers Óscar Cabello and Dennis Doren LLCC, who during the celebration spoke about the joy and hope of praying for others and reminded us that “we are instruments of God to offer ourselves and our daily crosses for the many souls in need of prayer.”
Mission Hope was created in Guatemala by Marcela de María y Campos, Consecrated of the Regnum Christi, with the purpose that the participants — initially only consecrated women — would unite in prayer and offer their crosses and daily activities for the intentions of those who need it most, whose names are written in a notebook called bag, which each member participating in this initiative carries everywhere. It is in this list where the illnesses, problems, and needs of all the people for whom prayers are said are accumulated.
Currently, the apostolate has more than 80 members who, through constant communication via WhatsApp, share in the pain of others and accompany them through daily prayers and ongoing offerings, since those who are added to the bags no longer leave them, thus maintaining a permanent prayer for all of them.
