Presentan el proyecto de la Universidad Anáhuac a Obispo de Orizaba

The Monday, December 7th, presentation was made to Monsignor Eduardo Cervantes Merino, Bishop of Orizaba, of the project for the Universidad Anáhuac Campus Córdoba-Orizaba, which will begin operations in the August 2021 academic cycle.

The presentation of the project was led by the fathers Guillermo Romo, LC, Juan Antonio Torres, LC, Antonio Vargas, LC, as well as Mr. Juan Miguel Bueno, president of the board, and Mr. Carlos Ochoa.

During the meeting, the work plan of Universidad Anáhuac was shown, regarding pastoral action, Catholic formation for students and teachers. They also informed Mons. Eduardo that there is a common core of subjects in the areas of humanities and Catholic formation regardless of the students’ chosen career.

“It will be a great help for the entire region, as the offer is open to all charisms of the movements,” mentioned Monsignor Eduardo during the meeting, and he recalled the positive impact that social work in the remote areas of the diocese would have, where many people are in need, specifically through medical services, since Universidad Anáhuac has a Medicine program.

On the other hand, he expressed gratitude that the Regnum Christi of the locality has adjusted and integrated into the pastoral programs of the diocese, reaffirming his openness to all ecclesial realities present in the diocese.

After the meeting, Fr. Juan Antonio Torres, LC, local director of Regnum Christi in Orizaba, commented that Mons. Cervantes received positively the arrival of Universidad Anáhuac Campus Córdoba-Orizaba to the region, as well as the apostolic work carried out by the locality within the diocese of Orizaba.
