During the month of January and early February, two deacons received the gift of the priesthood and seven religious made their perpetual profession.
Priestly Ordinations
Kraków, Poland
On January 2nd, the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Legion and the Regnum Christi, Fr. Marcin Prokopek, LC, was ordained a priest by Mons. Jan Zając at the sanctuary dedicated to St. John Paul II, in Kraków.
Fr. Marcin entered the novitiate of the Congregation on September 15, 2007, in Bad Münstereifel, Germany. He completed studies in classical humanities during the 2009-2010 academic year in Cheshire, United States. He made his perpetual profession on August 20, 2018, at the Congregation’s International College in Rome.
He completed philosophy and studied theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, Rome, Italy. During his apostolic internships, he served as assistant to the ECYD in Kraków. He currently ministers as director of the youth section in Kraków.
León, Mexico
On February 5th, the eve of the 56th anniversary of the Decretum laudis, Fr. Emmanuel Salgado, LC, was ordained a priest by Mons. Alfonso Cortés, Archbishop of León, at the Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart.
Fr. Emmanuel currently ministers as director of the male ECYD in Guadalajara South (Mexico); he is also a formation instructor at the Cumbres International School in the same city. As a brother, he collaborated in the ECYD of Caracas and at Oaklawn Academy.
He entered the novitiate on September 15, 2002, in Monterrey, Mexico. He completed two years of humanities studies from 2004 to 2006 in Salamanca, Spain. He obtained a license in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. He took his perpetual vows on October 17, 2010.
Perpetual Professions
On January 3rd, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Legion and the Regnum Christi, seven religious made their perpetual vows in Rome, Italy. Due to COVID, two of them did so at the Headquarters of the General Directorate, and the other five at the International College of the Congregation, in Rome.

The Mass at the College was presided over by Fr. Christopher Brackett, LC, rector of the theologate. The religious come from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Spain.
H. Celso Da Silva, LC, from Brazil, entered the Vocational Center on January 3, 2005, in Arujá, Brazil, and the novitiate at the same location on March 6, 2010. He completed his novitiate in Medellín, Colombia, and made his first profession on January 28, 2012, at the Vocational Center in Rionegro, Colombia. He studied humanities at the then Salamanca Center in Spain. During his apostolic internships, he served as assistant at the Vocational Center in Mérida, Venezuela, for two years; in his last year, he collaborated at the Cumbres School of Medellín and as an ECYD assistant. He is now studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
H. João Paulo Jäger, LC, from Brazil, joined the Vocational Center in Curitiba on January 4, 2007, and entered the novitiate on March 6, 2010, in Arujá, Brazil. He made his first profession on March 11, 2012. He studied humanities at the then Humanities Center of Monterrey, Mexico. During his apostolic internships, he was a member of the auxiliary ECYD team in Bavaria, Germany. He is currently studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
H. Santiago Vázquez, LC, from Spain, entered the Vocational Center on August 20, 2005, in Ontaneda, and joined the then novitiate in Gozzano, Italy, on September 15, 2009. He made his first profession on February 7, 2012, in Salamanca, Spain. He studied humanities at the then Humanities and Sciences Center of Salamanca. During his apostolic internships, he was a formation instructor at the Everest School of Santiago in Chile and an ECYD assistant in La Dehesa. He is now studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
H. Gonzalo Flores, LC, from Mexico, entered the then Vocational Center of Ajusco on August 15, 2006, and entered the novitiate on September 15, 2009, in Salamanca, Spain, where he made his first profession on February 24, 2012. He studied humanities at the then Humanities Center of Monterrey, Mexico. During his apostolic internships, he was a formation instructor at the Cumbres San Javier School and a member of the auxiliary team of the male ECYD. He is currently obtaining his license in philosophy at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
H. Andrés Poblete, LC, from Chile, entered the novitiate on March 6, 2010, in Arujá, Brazil. He made his first profession on March 11, 2012. He studied humanities at the Humanities Center in Cheshire, United States. During his apostolic internships, he served as assistant at the Vocational Center in Bad Münstereifel, Germany. He is now studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
Headquarters of the General Directorate
At the Headquarters of the General Directorate, Fr. John Connor, the congregation’s general director, received the perpetual vows of two brothers from Brazil and Colombia.
H. Flávio Lopes, LC, from Brazil, entered the Vocational Center in Curitiba on January 4, 2006, and made his novitiate on March 6, 2010, in Arujá, Brazil. He made his first profession on March 11, 2012. He studied humanities at the then Humanities and Sciences Center of Salamanca, Spain. During his apostolic internships, he served for two years as an assistant in vocations promotion in Bajío (Mexico) and later as an assistant at the then Vocational Center in Guadalajara. He is currently studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
H. Daniel Sossa, LC, from Colombia, entered the Vocational Center on November 27, 2005, in Rionegro, and on February 5, 2010, entered the then novitiate in La Estrella, Colombia. He made his first profession on January 28, 2012, at the Vocational Center in Rionegro, Colombia. He studied humanities at the then Humanities and Sciences Center of Salamanca. During his apostolic internships, he was an instructor of formation at the Cumbres Institute of Caracas and an ECYD assistant. He is currently studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
