On August 21, at the Distinguished and National Basilica of Guadalupe, Juan Pablo María López, LC, from Guadalajara, and Michel Errecart, LC, from Mexico City, received the diaconate from Mons. Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico.
Father Alberto Simán, LC, territorial director of the Legionaries of Christ of Mexico and Central America, presented the two candidates to Mons. Héctor Mario Pérez. In his homily, he expressed: “In the diaconate, they will find in Christ the vocation to serve, and feeling first loved by God, that is how they will be able to love all people, all society with their vocation in the Regnum Christi. They must live charity in simple moments and in the most difficult moments to be like Christ, the Good Samaritan who stops to help the fallen. Help young people who seemingly have everything resolved but have a spiritual void and live without love.”
Father Alberto Simán, LC, thanked Mons. Héctor on behalf of the entire Regnum Christi family, highlighting the support of families in the vocation of the ordained young men. Due to the pandemic, access to the Basilica was restricted, but the diaconate ceremony was broadcast on social media, connecting people from Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.
