After several years of priestly formation, four young legionaries arrived at the diaconal ordination ceremony accompanied by their families, friends, fellow priests, and members of Regnum Christi.
Shepherds of charity for the world today
In the words of the ordaining archbishop, Mons. Alfonso Cortés (Archbishop of León), during the diaconal ordination ceremony, the young deacons have been reaffirmed in the holiness of the ministry, reminding them that they have been chosen, set apart from among men for a mission that transcends human borders and has a sublime and transcendent destiny.
Profile of the new deacons
Fr. Jesús Raziel Guerrero Castillo, LC
Born on January 5, 1989, in León, Mexico. On September 15, 2010, he entered the novitiate in Dublin, Ireland. In 2016, after completing his philosophy studies in Rome, he was assigned as an assistant at the Vocational Center in Mérida, Venezuela. Since 2018, he has been part of the Theology community at the International College in Rome, where he took his perpetual vows on June 27, 2020. From July 2021, he has been assigned to the community in Salta, Argentina, to work with Regnum Christi youth in the northern part of the country.

Fr. Andrés Alejandro Cuéllar Páez, LC
Born in León, Gto., on June 10, 1991. In 2003, he entered the Vocational Center of León. In 2007, he began his novitiate in Dublin, Ireland. In 2009, he started his humanities studies in Salamanca, Spain. In 2013, after completing his philosophy baccalaureate in Rome, Italy, he was assigned to collaborate for three years at the Vocational Center of Ajusco, in Mexico City. In 2016, he returned to Rome to study for a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a bachelor’s in Theology, which he completed in 2021. Since 2017, he has supported the apostolate in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he has been assigned for his ministry.

Fr. Salvador Orta Martínez, LC
Born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on August 10, 1988. In 2007, he began his novitiate in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2009, he started his humanities studies in Monterrey. In 2010, he began his philosophy baccalaureate in Rome, and in 2012, he was assigned to collaborate for three years at the Vocational Center of Ajusco, in Mexico City. In 2015, he returned to Rome to study for a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a bachelor’s in Theology. In 2020, he began a degree for formators of seminarians and consecrated life at the San Pedro Favre Center of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, which he will complete in the next academic cycle.

Fr. Rafael Torres Mena, LC
Born in San Francisco del Rincón, Gto., on November 29, 1990. In 2002, he entered the Vocational Center of León. In 2007, he began his novitiate in Salamanca, Spain. In 2009, he started his humanities studies in Salamanca, Spain. In 2013, after completing his philosophy baccalaureate in Rome, Italy, he was assigned to collaborate for three years at the Vocational Center of Ajusco, in Mexico City. In 2016, he returned to Rome to study for a bachelor’s degree in Theology, which he completed in 2020. Since 2021, he has been supporting vocations promotion in Medellín, Colombia, where he has been assigned for his ministry.
