From October 11 to 15, the Logos Sacerdotal Center organized a series of spiritual exercises in silence for diocesan priests. This activity took place at the Santa María de la Cascada Retreat Center, located in Amecameca, State of Mexico, at the foot of the Iztaccíhuatl volcano.
57 diocesan priests attended from various dioceses: eight from the Archdiocese of Mexico, eight from the Diocese of Ciudad Juárez, seven from the Archdiocese of Monterrey, seven from the Archdiocese of Puebla, six from the Archdiocese of Guadalajara, five from the Diocese of Celaya, three from the Archdiocese of Oaxaca, three from the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí, two from the Archdiocese of Xalapa, two from the Diocese of Cuautitlán, two from the Diocese of Aguascalientes, one from the Diocese of Cuernavaca, one from the Diocese of Saltillo, one from the Diocese of Teotihuacán; as well as one from the Diocese of Cartago, Costa Rica.
The spiritual exercises were led by Father Roberto González, LC, who helped the group experience them deeply and silently, in prayer and reflection. Before the closing Mass, during which the priests could renew their baptismal and priestly promises, they shared their experiences.
In their contributions, they expressed gratitude for the opportunity to live this experience of conversion and renewal. Several priests also spoke about what the spiritual exercises meant for a life change. Others mentioned that they had never done spiritual exercises in silence and with such depth. Some shared that they had discovered in depth what it truly means to be a priest.
They especially thanked Father Roberto for his effort, mastery, anointing, and zeal in leading the series of exercises. Furthermore, some invited everyone in the group to promote the spiritual exercises organized by the Logos Priestly Center, to help their brothers in the priesthood deepen their mission as ministers of Christ.
