The International Congress “Leadership and the Common Good” (Congress Website) is an effort by universities from Chile, Spain, and Mexico to disseminate and promote research on leadership and its relationship with the common good. This first edition was organized and promoted in collaboration with:
- Universidad Anáhuac Cancún. (Mexico)
- Universidad Finis Terrae. (Chile)
- Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Spain)
In this congress, which will take place on November 24 and 25, 2022, presentations will be made that understand leadership and the common good as two intimately related elements. Leadership understood as the action of guiding a group of people harmoniously toward the common good can be present in different areas of human activity. Politics and management of public affairs, businesses, social organizations, and education are fields of knowledge in which leadership and the common good are present and can contribute to solving society’s most relevant problems.
What are the research lines
- Leadership Education: Experiences and reflections on the development of leadership skills and competencies in educational settings.
- Leadership and Society: Experiences and reflections on the positive transformation of society and culture.
- Leadership and Public Governance: Experiences and reflections on politics and public management as means for social and cultural development.
- Leadership and Business: Experiences and reflections on business management and its positive impact on society.

The Steering Committee is composed of:
Dr. Jaime Riquelme
Currently Director of the Leadership Center at Universidad Finis Terrae and Senior Management Consultant for People Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. He holds a doctorate in Peace and International Security from the General Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute and a Master’s in Military Sciences with a specialization in Planning and Strategic Management from the Chilean War Academy. He is also the author of three books and a contributor to various scientific journals.
Dr. Salvador Ortiz de Montellano
Currently Director at Sistemas Integrales de Computo Montellano and Emeritus Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Spain). He holds a doctorate in Education from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s in Systems from Ibero-American University, and a Master’s in Philosophy from the University of Navarra.
Dr. (c) Antonio Aldrette Elizondo
Currently Director of the International School of Leadership Anáhuac (ISLA) and of the Leadership-Humanities Division at Universidad Anáhuac Cancún. He studied Philosophy at Regina Apostolorum University in Rome and later completed the Master’s in Social Responsibility and the MBA-Anáhuac at Universidad Anáhuac México. Recently, he completed coursework for a Doctorate in Leadership and Management of Higher Education Institutions at Universidad Anáhuac México, and is working on his thesis.
Mtro. (c) José Miguel Ojeda
Currently Coordinator of the Leadership Programs at Anáhuac Cancún. He earned his Bachelor’s in International Business and his Master’s in Strategic International Leadership at Universidad Anáhuac Cancún. He also holds a certification in Management Skills from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a diploma in Strategic Administration from Universidad Anáhuac Cancún, a certification in Learning Leadership from HarvardX, and a certification in Leadership and Emotional Intelligence from Case Western Reserve University.
