Three new deacon ordinations were celebrated in Mexico and Venezuela, contributing to the world’s need for new apostles at the service of people.
On September 24th, at the Expiatory Temple of the Most Holy Sacrament in Guadalajara, Marco Antonio de la Cruz, L.C. and César Gálvez, L.C., both originally from Jalisco (Mexico), were ordained deacons. Both have been working in important apostolic and vocational activities.
Thus, the new deacon Marco de la Cruz has been developing his apostolate as a discipline prefect at the Apostolic of Monterrey, and deacon César Gálvez was recently appointed as a vocational promoter in the localities of Mexico South and Puebla.
Who are the new deacons?
- Marco Antonio de la Cruz, L.C.
Brother Marco Antonio was born on December 29, 1991, in Jalisco (Mexico). He entered the Guadalajara Vocational Center at a very young age. After his profession, he went to Monterrey and Salamanca, where he pursued studies in Humanities. He is currently the vocational promoter in the localities of Mexico South and Puebla.
- César Alejandro Gálvez, L.C.
Brother César Alejandro is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He has developed his vocational and pastoral activity as a secondary education instructor at the Irish Institute of Monterrey, a member of the auxiliary team for ECyD male in Monterrey, among others. Additionally, he completed studies in Humanities and other areas. He has now been appointed as a vocational promoter in the localities of Mexico South and Puebla.
On the other hand, on the same day, Joel Ruíz L.C. was ordained a deacon in a ceremony presided over by S.E.R. Mons. José de la Trinidad Valera, Bishop of Guanare, at the San Juan Bautista Church in Valera, Venezuela.
Who is the new deacon?
Joel Ruiz was born in Valera, Venezuela, on October 23, 1983. He is the fourth of seven children. He graduated as an engineer and, after a long discernment process, entered the Legion of Christ novitiate in 2012. He completed studies in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome.
Additionally, he did apostolic internships in Mexico City as a formator at the vocations centers of Ajusco and La Joya. He now exercises his ministry as a prefect of apostolics at the Vocational Center of Mérida, Venezuela.
