“Sacerdos in aeternum”: the testimony of the legionaries ordained in Rome in 2024

Published on 5 September, 2024
Legionaries, News

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, a video captures the emotions and sensations of several of the new Legionary priests who were ordained in Rome last April.

April 27, 2024, is a date that will be remembered by the 20 new Legionary priests and the more than 1,500 attendees at the ordinations held in St. Paul Outside the Walls Basilica, an imposing structure that is one of the four papal basilicas of Rome (the other three major basilicas are St. Peter’s, St. John Lateran, and Santa Maria Maggiore). Like the other three, it features a Holy Door and a papal altar.

This day, Abraham Eo, Christopher Daniels, Cristian Ortega, Juan Pablo Castañeda, Gustavo Godínez, Christian Martínez, Jesús Silva, Darren Wallace, Kevin O’Byrne, Santiago Vázquez, Alexandre Simoes, Gustavo Balestrim, Eduardo Perdomo, Alejandro Mora, Diego Paéz, Jefferson de Souza, Andrew Torrey, Jesús Mora, Sebastian Sánchez, and Rafael Böhm, from Germany, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, the United States, Mexico, and Venezuela, concluded over 12 years of formation to start a new life as apostles in service of the Legionary mission, Regnum Christi, and the Church.
Within this context, Adrián Fernandes Rodrigues, a young member of Regnum Christi from Germany, and who supported the international communication team of the Legion on that very special day, captured with his camera the best moments and the testimony of several of the new priests about the meaning of this transcendental moment.

Also participating in the video were Fr. John Connor, L.C., General Director of Legionaries of Christ, Cecilia Ruiloba, a consecrated member of Regnum Christi, and family members of some of those ordained.

We invite you to watch “Sacerdos in aeternum,” where hope and mission are combined for all eternity.
