Pope Francis, in his prayer intention for February, emphasizes the importance of vocations to priestly and religious life, sharing his own experience of feeling called to this life at a young age.
“When I was 17 years old, I was a student and working, I had my plans. I wasn’t thinking at all about becoming a priest. But one day I entered the parish… and there was God, waiting for me!” “God continues to call young people today too, sometimes in ways we cannot imagine,” affirms the Pope.
His message highlights the importance of accompanying young people in their vocational search, creating a space where they feel heard and supported. He encourages everyone to pray for those young people who feel the desire to serve in Christ’s mission, promoting a culture of discernment and support within communities. This initiative aims not only to foster vocations but also to strengthen understanding and accompaniment in the discernment process.
