Who are we?

Spiritual Family
We belong, by our very constitution, to the spiritual family and apostolic body of Regnum Christi.

Regnum Christi
We are part of the Regnum Christi Federation, which is governed by its own statutes.

Our identity
The purpose of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ is to give glory to God and to seek that Christ may reign in the lives of its members, in the hearts of men, and in society.
Our spirituality
We make present the mystery of Christ, who gathers the Apostles around Him, reveals to them the love of His heart, forms them, and sends them to collaborate with Him in the establishment of His Kingdom.
Our mission
We seek to promote the fullness of the baptismal vocation and strive to build Christ’s Kingdom in society by undertaking the actions that most contribute to this mission.
Legionaries make present the mystery of Christ gathering the Apostles around him, revealing to them the love of his heart, forming them and sending them out to collaborate with him in building up his Kingdom

Forming Apostles
Christian Leaders
at the Service of the Church
«A Legionary fulfills his vocation in communion with and in a spirit of service to his lay and consecrated brothers and sisters in Regnum Christi. Together with them, his focus is on bringing Gospel charity to life and on awakening each baptized person to their vocation as an apostle — a missionary disciple» (cf. Ratio Institutionis, 80).
“The Legionary is always a member of the Movement,
and wherever he is, he makes Regnum Christi present”
— Statement from the 2014 General Chapter, 32.

— Ratio Institutionis “Christus Vita Vestra”, 106-107.
Legionary of Christ: A Particular Style
The name “Legionary of Christ” points to a particular style that distinguishes its members
The words “of Christ” underscore that a Legionary is a disciple and friend of the Lord, with whom he knows he is united forever — as the psalm says, “I am yours” (Psalm 119:94). Far from formalism or rigidity, there is a freshness and closeness in his daily contact with Him: “I have called you friends” (John 15:15).
